Athletics News: Saint Leo Places 32 Student-Athletes on the Division II Athletic Directors Academic Achievement Award List

Men’s Soccer Leads the 13 Sports Honored
SAINT LEO, Fla. - The Saint Leo University Department of Athletics saw 32 student-athletes honored as they were named to the Division II Athletic Directors Academic Achievement Award list presented by WeatherPORT. The Academic Achievement Award is a program that recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level.
To be eligible for the award the student-athlete must meet three requirements set forth by the Division II Athletic Directors Association and the institution’s athletic director must be an active member. The requirements state that the student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work and that they have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.
Of the 32 Lions on the list, men’s soccer earned the honor of having the most student-athletes recognized with six while women’s swimming saw four players make the list. Four ot
