HOUSTON – The Houston Independent School District announced 8 new schools will be opening in the 2011-12 school year.
Along with those schools, HISD will be reopening 20 schools that have received significant renovations, according to a statement.
You can thank those renovations to an $805 million proposal voters passed in 2007.
The 8 newly-added elementary schools include:
– Almeda — Frost — Lovett — DeChaumes — Berry — Horn
Lewis and de Anda elementary schools will be opened later in the Fall.
Construction crews are working on 61 HISD schools, according to the statement.
