Five area students have each won $1,000 scholarships from Burger King’s Have It Your Way Foundation.
The recipients are: Aya Angstadt, Christine Fisher and Tate Krejci, from Rampart High School; Thomas Vera, The Classical Academy, and Marcia Nygaard, Doherty High School.
There were more than 31,000 applicants for the awards, with 1,249 students receiving them.
Recipients were selected based on their grade point average, work experience, extracurricular activities and community service.
