Why a Healthy Lunch is Important for Creches

Written by admin on February 18, 2012.

It has been said that bad habits get harder to break as people age. If this is in fact correct, the solution to the issue would be to create good habits in the first place. In relation to children, a good habit to get them started with is eating healthy. It may be easier or faster to feed them chicken nuggets and pizza all day, but in the long run this is setting the child’s health up for failure. Healthy lunches must be served by creches in order to keep children healthy and on track for success.

Children in the daycare setting do not usually have choices when it comes to their meals; creches can change that. In the early childhood years, in particular, children have been known to be picky when it comes to what they put in their bodies. Unfortunately, some parents would rather spare themselves the hassle of an argument than actually keep nutrition in their child’s diet. Coastal Bend high school students: Access to college-level courses may have gotten a little easier.

A measure approved Tuesday by Del Mar College’s Board of Regents eliminated a mandatory $30 per semester-credit-hour fee for out-of-district dual credit students and a $68 mandatory flat instructional fee per student per semester.

The approved fee eliminations take effect immediately.

The board also gave college officials the go-ahead to negotiate dual credit partnerships with local and area school districts for next year.

Dual credit tuition of $33.33 per semester-credit hour, a $12 per semester-credit-hour general use fee and a $10 per semester-credit-hour matriculation fee will remain in place, said Lee Sloan, the college’s vice president for administration, finance and student services. The average dual credit fee total under the approved changes would be about $166, officials said.

Dual credit students can earn high school and college credit simultaneously. In

Written by Angelina Weir on February 7, 2012.

From The Los Angeles Times: As the scandal over two Miramonte Elementary School teachers accused of committing lewd acts on children grows, it’s becoming clear the Los Angeles Unified School District faces a heavy financial cost. Miramonte has reopened with an all-new slate of teachers and administrators as well as custodians and cafeteria workers. But the district will continue to pay the old staff even as they wait out the investigations. It remains unclear how long this arrangement will last; the investigations are expected to take months. The new hiring alone will run $5.7 million for the remainder of the school year.
